Karim Bhaloo – Founder & Creative Director
As the visionary behind Zambarau Gems,Karim Bhalooo is a distinguished gemologist with more than 20 years of experience specializing in gemstone dealing in Africa. His expertise covers a wide range of precious stones, including diamonds, emeralds, rubies, sapphires, and tanzanite, with a focus on ethical sourcing and sustainable practices. Having studied at the Asian Institute of Gemmological Sciences in Thailand, Karim Bhalooo embarked on his career as a gemstone dealer, traversing Africa to procure the finest gemstones directly from mines and local artisans. Over the years, he has developed a keen eye for gem identification, grading, and valuation, earning a reputation for his integrity and commitment to ethical business practices. In addition to his expertise in gemology, Karim Bhalooo is a talented jewelry designer. He seamlessly integrates his knowledge of African gemstones with innovative design concepts, creating captivating and culturally inspired jewelry pieces. His designs often feature intricate details, vibrant hues, and elements that reflect the beauty of African heritage.
